Over the time I’ve had several people ask me if I knew of any good tutorials on how to recreate various gadgets like iPhones, TVs, cellphones, Psp’s and so on. So this time I decided to have a good look through all the links that I’ve collected over the last couple of years, and make a good round-up where you get a whole bunch of these in one place. Most of these are Photoshop tutorials and some also include Illustrator.
Not only can these tutorials be fun to do, they can inspire, help you with some new techniques and so on. Solar Power for the MacBook Air

Quickerteck has created a product called the Apple Juicz which allows users to power their MacBook Air, MacBook or MacBook Pro using solar power. The product comes in three models. The 55 watt model costs $1,000 and recharges the MBA in 5 hours. The 27 watt model costs $600 and recharges the MBA in 8 hours and the 18 watt model costs $500 and recharges the MBA in 14 hours. Each model requires an upgraded MagSafe power adapter. QuickerTek can either modify the customer’s adapter for $25.00 or you can purchase a modified MagSafe power adapter for $100.00.

Robots may soon live among us! In the past, scientists thought the best way to create AI was with a body controlled by a central robot brain. New thinking, however, suggests that intelligence starts from the body, not the brain. The starfish above is an example of the latter. When in rough terrain, the starfish robot has the ability to pick different walking configurations and choose which one works the best. When the starfish is turned on, it flops around and chooses the most succesful movement; records it and thus increases its intelligence. This could solve a fundamental problem of creating AI. That is if AI had a central brain, it would be almost impossible to program every detail of the world into it. With this new way of thinking, future robots could not only be able to learn but act and look just like real people. In his book, Love and Sex with Robots, David Levy predicts that people will be having sex with human-like robots by the year 2050!

Ever wanted a suit of armor like Iron Man? Well, now you can! OK, but to be honest this is much more likely to have amazing medical (or military) applications than recreational ones. Berkeley Bionics has developed a suit that will allow users to carry up to 200 pounds with very little effort.

Perhaps the most disappointing thing is that, from a design standpoint, the suit looks quite cumbersome and is likely awkward to wear as well. Still, think of this as a prototype: if they were to go toward mass-production they would surely try and make the design more inspiring for potential purchasers. Either way would you really pass this up if you had the opportunity to own one?
