Cameron Chapman: Internet Famous

October 3rd, 2009 Posted in Various

I just finished reading Cameron Chapman’s book Internet Famous, an eBook you might have heard about on Twitter. Internet Famous is a guide to becoming an online celebrity, like Pete Cashmore of Mashable. Before you set out on your quest to become internet famous, you must first decide why you want to become internet famous and whether you want to become famous for yourself or for a product.

Once you decide this, you will learn all of the different techniques to gain the fame. The 200+ page book goes over every aspect of social media and internet promotion. Chapman starts off by explaining that to become internet famous, it is important to begin with a blog. Your blog is your initial platform that all of your other social media campaigns will go through. Chapman teaches you how to set up the perfect blog going over what information to include and how to present yourself to readers. She also covers topics like link baiting and SEO.  The book breaks down how to use all of the popular social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, and YouTube. It also covers other methods such as podcasting, vlogging and wikis. If there is a way of promoting yourself on the internet, you will find it in this book. Lifecasting? Not only is it covered, but there is an entire chapter dedicated to it. I even discovered a few new sites such as ping.fm. Whether you are looking to become the next star wars kid or you are just looking to learn more about blogging and social media, I highly recommend reading this book. If you are interested in reading this book, you can find it on Amazon or Smashwords.

you need to offer something that brings attention to you. Make a you tube video that gets a lot of hits, usually comedy is the most used. No one cares about some regular person doing all this stuff.
