Free Online Tool To Import Colors From An Image : ColorExplorer

While working for design industry its not been really easy to deal with colors, there are lot of big chapters, color theories, online tools and tutorials designers are spending time on to learn all about colors. Today we are here with an interesting online color tool, most of you desingers may be well aware but sharing for those new in the industry.

ColorExploer is a free and interesting online color tool developed by Kim Jensen at Port80.biz (Danish Internet innovation agency), does a lot of complex stuff that only a design professional could fully appreciate and has a special feature to import colors from any of your uploaded Image.

Import colors from an image:

Find the little photo icon labeled “Import colors from an image” link at left side on the home page which directs you to free tool page. With this tool you can quickly extract individual colors or a complete color palette from any image and can save color palette to My Palettes, replace current palette or append to current palette. If you are not a registered user your palettes will be stored and referenced only by a browser cookie and will be removed whenever you delete your cookie and/or your browser cache. To prevent loss of palettes, you can simply create a free user profile.
To get started, simply upload an image file (JPG or PNG format) using the toolbox at the left.

The ColorExplorer online toolset include, but is not limited to:

  • Browsing popular color libraries
  • Conversion hints between multiple color libraries (RAL, TOYO, and more)
