10 Interactive Websites for Inspiration
Interactive websites, when done intuitively, can inspire. The best ones leave a mark in our memories, compelling us to return to them time after time. From portfolio websites to all-out fun, Flash design for websites and webspaces can sometimes be complicated, as the freedom of designing with Flash poses newer and more challenging facets of web design to face. Some of these I’ve known for years; some I’ve just recently discovered. 2Advanced, which I first saw years ago, is a high-end portfolio website with different all-encompassing environments for each of its sections.
At the Bank of Imagination, people share their wonders in the midst of serenely-falling blocks.
Creaktif displays its myriad works in a visually stimulating way.
Doodlebuzz has you draw not only to display top headlines but to elaborate on individual ones.
A portfolio website, Dubois Meets Fugger has different creative transition animations for every selection.
Newsmap visualizes the hottest news headlines by size and color. OurSignal does something similar, but with social bookmarking websites.
NOLAF is a clever campaign “for” Tostitos that employs good use of pre-recorded video, audio, and interactivity.
Special Defects is a site created for the sole purpose of fun experimentation, with various interactive experiences.
This is a website for the open campus of Tokyo Zokei University, modeled after classic role playing game style and even using 8-bit music. Each person says something when you click.
The Zoomquilt was contributed to by several artists. You zoom in or out on several continuous, never-ending scenes, determining the speed with your mouse.
