WordPress is awesome and there are countless unconventional ways designers using wordpress. The most intelligent use of wordpress is to have a creative footer. Gone were the days of having some copyright information and a simple text navigation in footer, designers are finding out more great ways to decorate footers in website design. Definitely like the footer links in this kind of pattern. The straight down look at the bottom, makes blogs look clean and neat. However I dont like the fact how most their most popular posts widget and recent comments widget down there.
Many users will never scroll down that far to see any of that very valuable content.

A great list, it seems like footers used to be much more bland, now footers are being used to include much more information than they used to.

@Zach Ya footers are definitely starting to get used a lot more. We didn’t have one before and recently added one,it has proven really helpful in freeing up space.

From the day one when I started searching for WordPress theme, I searched for something with a footer. That is my first and minimum requirement.
I landed with thesis theme,but it was lacking Footer and glad I added footer on it with coding. I believe WordPress footer has lots of advantages on terms of SEo and lowering down Bounce rate.

The one thing I hate especially with some wordpress blog templates is when they have navigation in the footer.
At the end of the day one people are at the bottom of the page they are probably there because they have finished looking at what they wanted, why put naviagtion at the bottom?
A simple copyright and credit to the design author is all that is needed, plus perhaps a disclaimer / privacy policy etc. if they do not fit into the existing page structure of the blog.

Design pleasant and not difficult navigation. Worspress in general I consider as the ingenious invention. Mass popularity of this product is caused by two factors.
1. It is not necessary to pay for it.
2. We receive constant updating.
3. The semantic kernel is thought well over.
4. Possibility to integrate a widget.
