Ever wanted a suit of armor like Iron Man? Well, now you can! OK, but to be honest this is much more likely to have amazing medical (or military) applications than recreational ones. Berkeley Bionics has developed a suit that will allow users to carry up to 200 pounds with very little effort.

Perhaps the most disappointing thing is that, from a design standpoint, the suit looks quite cumbersome and is likely awkward to wear as well. Still, think of this as a prototype: if they were to go toward mass-production they would surely try and make the design more inspiring for potential purchasers. Either way would you really pass this up if you had the opportunity to own one?

Opinions are bound to vary on such a crucial and potentially controversial subject but … when do you think a design is done? Sure, there are goals to be met, clients to be appeased, but at the end of the day it is the designer who decides when something is actually finished. Is it alright to simply meet the expectations of someone else or do you need to have your own goals continually in mind as well?
